Purpose

It is the intent of this policy to describe how we will keep customer and former customer information protected, confidential, and secure. We will also describe the scope of the information we keep and some of our practices to update and protect this information. This policy statement is intended to comply with all applicable laws and regulations as required.

 

 Our Commitment To Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. To better protect your privacy we provide this notice explaining our information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used. To make this notice easy to find, we make it available in writing, on our homepage at www.ocsavings.com and at every office location we maintain.

 

We also participate in the Council of Better Business Bureaus' BBBOnLine® Privacy Program, and comply with all the BBBOnLine® privacy standards. Further information about this program is available at http://www.bbbonline.org.

Our Commitment To Children's Privacy

Providing service to children while protecting their privacy is important to us. We provide accounts to minors only with parental consent.

 

We provide a special youth section to our web pages with links that have been reviewed for content suitability for children of all ages. Links and content in all of our web pages are reviewed to ensure suitability for children who browse outside the youth pages of our site. 

 

We do not host or link to any chat or posting sites where children would be able to communicate directly with others. We do provide email links to associates of Ohio Central Savings for questions, support or additional information. E-mails sent to Ohio Central Savings Associates are responded to on a one-time basis and no personally identifiable information is maintained.

Safeguarding Your Information

To protect information you submit to us, we provide secure internet forms and nationwide 800 number access. It is highly recommended that you never submit your account number, social security number or any other personal information via email. The best way to ensure privacy is to use only secure forms or call or write to us. To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect in compliance with federal standards.

 

Employee Training

We continually work with our associates to recognize and protect your privacy. Our associates perform a series of checks to verify the identity of our customer before releasing information. These verifications are required regardless of the medium the customer uses to contact us.

 

Creating Documentation and Verification

Information and requests received from customers will be verified with our records or with other public records to ensure proper identification and access permission.

 

Our Commitment to Accuracy

We strive to keep our information up-to-date and accurate. When we find there is updated information available about you, it is our policy to verify this information with you prior to changing your file with us. We also periodically review your information and request updates directly from you.

 

The Information We Collect

We collect the following information from you that we reasonably believe will be necessary or useful in processing, administering and maintaining the products and services you have requested from us. 

 

We collect information from you from various sources such as 1) applications or other forms, such as your name, address, phone, social security number, assets and income, 2) information about your transactions with us and affiliates or others such as your account balance, payment history, parties to transactions, credit and debit card usage, 3) information we receive from third parties including consumer reporting agencies, such as credit worthiness and credit history, and 4) information we are required to collect for government tracking of loan applications and credit granting.

 

The Way We Use Information

We use the information you supply about yourself to underwrite loans and services, to maintain and service accounts, and to communicate with you about your accounts that our affiliated companies and we provide to you. We may disclose nonpublic personal information about you with our affiliates (businesses related to us by common ownership or control) and other non-affiliated third parties under certain circumstances to provide account services.  We do not disclose any nonpublic personal information about you to anyone, except as permitted under law or otherwise provided in this policy.

Who receives information and why

We communicate your information to third party providers in order to obtain information about you to determine our willingness to provide credit or services to you and to prevent fraud.  We also provide account information to national consumer reporting bureaus. Certain information such as real estate mortgages, auto lien filings, uniform commercial code filings and other documents are public records.

 

We may disclose information we collect to our affiliated financial service providers, such as insurance agents and savings institutions (“affiliate” businesses are related to us by common ownership or control). 

 

Except as permitted by law, or otherwise provided in this policy, we do not release information to nonaffiliated third parties.  An example of when we may share customer information as permitted by law with a nonaffiliated third party would be to complete a transaction you requested, such as by ordering a property appraisal as a part of your loan application.

 

We are also required to report information to certain government agencies and to have information reviewed by agency examiners and outside auditors. In addition, we are compelled from time to time to provide information pursuant to court orders.

 

We use return email addresses to answer the email we receive and to communicate directly with you.  We do not allow third parties access to this information.

 

We may disclose the information we collect to companies that perform marketing services on our behalf or to other financial institutions with whom we have joint marketing arrangements.  The third party marketing service providers who receive this information are required under law to use the information we share with them only for our specific marketing purposes.  Applicable law prohibits them from re-using or selling this information.

How You Can Correct Your Information

We have established procedures to ensure that your information is accurate and complete.  You can access your information by phone, in person or by fax.  In addition you will be mailed a periodic statement that contains your information.

 

You can correct factual errors in your personally identifiable information by sending us a written signed request that credibly shows the error and the correct information to PO Box 645, Dublin, OH 43017. To protect your privacy and security, we will also take reasonable steps to verify your identity before making corrections.

Important Information About Procedures for Opening a New Account

To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an account.

 

What this means to you: When you open an account, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may also ask to see your driver’s license or other identifying documents.
